Unfortunately, NONE of the seasons are subtitled. I have got the first 2 seasons on DVD, and neither have subtitles at all. Sorry.

It sucks big time when some series aren't subtitled at all. Grr... Image
I just hope that one day SOON, ALL of them will be subtitled, no matter what!

Yeah, I agree. It should be an option for everyone out there. Even hearing people have trouble hearing words at times too.

I agree I think it sucks when they put out these movie's and you have no choice fopr Subtitles, sometimes I like the movies late at night after everyone in my house is asleep and it is nice to be able to turn the sound way down and just read the subtitles-helps keep the kid's asleep.

I'm surprised they're not. I thought that was standard for most DVD's now. Our DVD player in fact is factory set to show the subtitles.
Maybe it's just in the states that they subtitle the DVD's all the time.

Unfortunately, they don't subtitle many DVDs here. It's usually just the smaller distributors who don't. In the US, they have compulsory captioning of all DVDs, well they have to at least include closed captions so yeah, you're better off than us in that case.

I thought they had to put on subtitles for the "hard of hearing" by lawImage

Apparently it's only in certain countries which require the subtitles, which is really unfortunate.

Probably explains why all UK DVD's have Subtitles For the Hard of Hearing... Which is useful for those of us who are hard of hearing or have small noisy children!!! Image

That's a good point--many a time and spouse and I have used the subtitled so that we could follow the story with the children playing in the background.

I think nowadays there's really no excuse for any company not releasing movies and TV shows with subtitles. Hopefully every country will require this in the near future.

Yeah, there are still some distributors here that don't bother with subtitling any of their DVDs - Roadshow and Shock Entertainment, and they don't produce good quality DVDs either.

It's mainly the big companies that do subtitle DVDs and they usually have a high standard of quality too.
